Somar Integra Intelligent Motor Control is an enhanced version of well-established soft-start technology controlling your motors not only as they start and stop, but also throughout their operational duty cycle. Once the motor is running Somar Integra constantly monitors the load on the shaft of the motors and adjusts the electricity consumption in accordance with the job that it is doing at any point in its duty cycle. In effect Integra acts along the same lines as a cruise control – keeping the motor constant speed,but adjusting energy consumption according to the torque required at any given time. In addition tothis the Integra is able to shut motors down when they are not required – the timed shut off feature automatically turns off motors that have not been used for a specified period of time, and the stored energy feature takes full advantage of the kinetic energy present in fly wheel applications and can decrease run time of the motor down by as much as 30% in certain cases. A variety of stopping methods are also featured on the unit – soft stop, plug braking and DC Injection braking. The Somar Integra can make savings on the running costs of applications that use AC Induction motors. Not only does it save significant amounts of energy when the motor is running but it reduces maintenance costs too.
